"Offensive content" found tag surfing

    Hi,
I did the search thing under offensive and found nothing, so I'm asking: if I find something while tag surfing i find offensive....

but other people may not, what to do? I find this stuff pretty awful:

    http://napier25.wordpress.com/

but i might just be a wuss and not like all caps and the f-word twice a line and when i'm tag surfing, the same blog to take up three-quarters of it over and over

or should i just take a chill pill?

  2. I'd suggest your option #2. You don't need to approve or disapprove of every blog you come across. Imagine how much work that would be. Leave them to their own corner of the universe unless the content violates ToS or needs the Mature tag, which this (in my non-staff opinion) does not.

  3. Pretty much. Feel free to send in a feedback but I wouldn't label it as such.

ok, guess I'll have to take out humor from the tag surfing list for a while until this guy goes away. it's everywhere, and annoying

  5. Not all humour is in good taste. But you could try using the English spelling like I did there; it counts as a different tag and might draw from a different crowd.

    right you are

  7. Just curious, but what was your real purpose in searching for "offensive" anyway?

  8. *shrug* I searched youtube for 'obscene' once. Got a bunch of Barbie Girl ripoffs....

  9. *shrug* again...hahahahaa....

  10. I have seen some images that totally grossed me out. Some months ago now boles hit on a site that was IMO horrific. From his description I seem to have hit either on it or one just like it too. Apparently, those who have never been kidnapped, held in unlawful confinement, and physically and/or sexually abused are stimulated by playing games, photographing themselves and their playmates and blogging about their exploits. So I have searched on the web to find the legal definitions of "obscene" in the Canadian and American courts.

To the original poster I say: You ain't seen nothing yet.

    disembedded,
you misunderstand. i did not search for "offensive" and hit upon this joker blog. i found it via tag surfing. i searched "offensive" in the forums to make sure this subject hadn't been discussed before.

i guess more to the point: is there any way to filter the tag surfing results to get rid of stuff you don't want to see?

I wish there were. I put 'weird' in as a tag just for fun, and it pulls up the most banal stuff you can imagine; 'riding' brings up bikes, etc.

  14. There is no way to filter tag surfing results. And, as the bloggers themselves create their own tags this could be very far off.

Here's my pet peeve - the woman who tags her homemade sex video, which she brags was banned by youtube for being to explicit, with "wordpress.com". I don't expect posts with that tag to contain that kind of material but if I dump the tag to get rid of her crappola then I will also lose the posts I want to see.

I understand much better now. Many thanks for your comments.
