I'm very new to this site but am loving it and can't wait to get some awesome feedback. Good or Bad. Again, I am new. I'm wondering, am I being seen? I usually catch on to these things fairy quickly. So just wondering if I'm on the right track? Thanks =)

I agree that reading other blogs is a great idea and when you do that leave meaningful comments that add to the discussion. Because when you do that your blog will receive traffic from those who appreciated what you had to say.
Learning how to use keywords and a minimal number or relevant categories and tags effectively is key to drawing search engine traffic. The keywords in your content that are indexed by search engines. They will produce your posts in search engine results when people look for posts by typing those terms into search engines. Successful blogs draw between 30 - 60 % of their incoming targeted readers. from search engine referrals.
Targeted readers are different from casual traffic. Targeted readers arrive on your blog in response to SERPS (search engine page results) knowing the subject matter they are searching for will be found in your posts (assuming you have used relevant keywords, categories and tags).
Targeted readers are more likely to become regular readers and subscribers and leave comments on your posts. They are also more likely to backlink to your posts in posts of their own and when they do your blog will receive visitors who click the links. Here are 25 basic steps to take to increase traffic to your blog:
1. Structure a reader and search engine blog;
2. In blogging content is king create unique, high quality content so publish fresh content frequently;
3. Learn basic SEO so you can use keywords effectively and apply basic SEO to your headlines, blog and posts;
Search engine optimization (SEO) is the process of improving the visibility of a website or a web page in search engines via the "natural" or un-paid ("organic" or "algorithmic") search results.
4. Make your blog posts look professional;
5. Create at least 4-6 pillar posts and continue to create pillar posts;
Pillar posts are also referred to as flagship content. Pillar posts are comprehensive posts that offer great value to readers as the contents are timeless in nature. They define you as having authority in the niche you blog in.
6. Select and link to appropriate anchor text;
7. Leave meaningful comments on related blogs and encourage comments on your own blog;
8. Develop relationships with other bloggers so you can build a blog readers’ community around your own blog;
9. Support the blog centered communities on related blogs by commenting on them and promoting posts from them;
10. Link to authoritative sources in your posts;

Ah TT. Been a while since I got here again. I realized that when i stopped being involved with other blogs, my traffic also decreased. The online community is a give and take community. You get what you give. If you want comments on your posts then you need to comment on other posts. It's the time tested formula.

I'm realizing that patience is key. Use social media sites such as twitter and facebook to promote your site. I'm finding that my blog is being promoted by my friends on their facebook because they enjoy it so much. But just write and show a few friends. Post on these forums, it'll come to you.
