On organization, workflow, criteria for categorization

  1. Hello, I am a novice blogger, still confused after reading the many useful support pages...

I've tried to itemize the nature of my problems in a post on my blog. I think it's easier to understand in the structured layout so I'll leave the link here, but feel free to reply here or there with any advice you may be able to offer, thanks!

The blog I need help with is quirkxotic.wordpress.com.

  2. On the bottom of your Admin page you will find a link to the step by step Learn WordPress.com blogging Tutorial prepared by Staff. http://learn.wordpress.com/

The support documentation is all found at the Support link http://en.support.wordpress.com which is also on the bottom of your Admin page.

What’s the difference between: Page, Post, Category, Tag, Menu (reading many WordPress support pages-still complex)

Please type those keywords into the searchbox here and you will find answers http://en.support.wordfpress.com
    http://en.support.wordpress.com/posts/
    http://en.support.wordpress.com/pages/
    http://en.support.wordpress.com/posts/categories/
    http://en.support.wordpress.com/posts/tags/
    http://en.support.wordpress.com/menus/

There are many common errors, misunderstandings and misconceptions when creating custom menus and you can read about them here > http://wpbtips.wordpress.com/2011/12/19/custom-menus/

  3. See here for accepted file types http://en.support.wordpress.com/accepted-filetypes/

The following processes are outlined particularly for users who wish to upload a document and add its download link to a blog post or page. http://en.support.wordpress.com/uploading-documents/

If you want to embed the document itself into a post, then you will have to use a third party application like Scribd or Google Docs.
    See here:
    http://en.support.wordpress.com/scribd/
    http://en.support.wordpress.com/google-docs/

  4. P.S. Search utilities here work very well here and the tutorial is a step by step guide that's very helpful to all of those who don't jump head first into the deepend and miss learning how to do the basics. When you cannot find what you need by using the search utilities and/or support documentation please post a forum thread with your details in it here, rather than expecting us Volunteers to go to your blog and respond to a post there.
