One domain for multiple blogs?

  1. I'm trying to help someone who is thinking about starting a WP blog - he would like to have two separate blogs under the same domain.

I realize it's possible to have two blogs under the same username, but have been unable to find info about domain mapping two blogs to one domain (e.g. xyz.com/blog1 and xyz.com/blog2). Does anyone know whether this is possible at WP, and if so, what do we need to know before we go ahead and register him?

    Thanks.

  2. It's not possible to do this at WordPress.com.

You MAY be able to do this with an independently-hosted wordpress install, but there's no support for that here. You'd have to buy hosting and go to WordPress.org for help on that.

  3. Wait, I just thought of something. He COULD potentially have http://blogname1.domain.com and http://blogname2.domain.com if he bought the domain upgrade. Staff would have to confirm that, as it's just something that seems logical. There may be technical reasons it can't be done. Support will reopen on Monday and you can contact them directly then.

  4. You can't use xyz.com/blog1 and xyz.com/blog2 with a WP.com blog as far as I know. It has to be the other way around.
