Only display pictures once in a post

  1. I need to know how to exclude a picture from a gallery but still be able to have it posted in the same blog post. I don't want it to be displayed twice. I am new at this and can't figure it out and its driving me crazy! Thank you

The blog I need help with is bakeraim.wordpress.com.

  2. I think I understand that, but where do I actually post the exlcude= part of it at?

  3. You have to modify the Gallery shortcode in the Post HTML/Text Editor so that it shows like this:

    [gallery exclude="xxxx"]

where "xxxx" is the attachment ID number of the image you want to exclude. You can only modify the shortcode in the HTML/Text tab of the post editor. (Shows as a tab next to "Visual" in the post editor)

    See here: http://agallerydemo.wordpress.com/2011/03/08/gallery-with-excluded-image/

  4. If you want a quick method of finding the image ID number, insert the image in the post where you want it to appear, switch to the HTML/Text Editor and you should see somewhere in the inserted image code wp-image-xxxx

xxxx is the number you use in the exclude.
