I think that your current homepage should be moved to an 'About' page. Most sites use the homepage for recent articles. You may also want to consider using the 'click to read more' feature, so that it is easier to navigate past posts that are not of interest, plus it helps to give a clear indication of what posts are popular, as when someone clicks it registers a hit for that post, rather than just a generic homepage hit.
