Orange button notification Likes and Likes on post not agreeing.

    I have noticed over the last few days that the amount of Likes that are listed for a post under the orange notification button and the actual Likes on the post don't match up.

    For example, at this moment the post 'An Unexpected Visitor 1935' has 12 Likes, all of which I have recieved email notification for and can see on the screen but when the orange button lights up it only says ............ and 9 others liked your post.

    Interestingly the two that are missing are the only ones who don't have custom Gravatars (both Liked hours ago, newer Likes have come in since then).

    I think this problem has been going on for a few days it is just today that I actually have something to properly point out.

    I am not bothered by this, I just thought I would point it out in case there is an underlying problem.

    I have looked again today and the same thing is still occuring.

    Still not bothered, just making note :)

    When you see "and 9 others liked your post," do the names preceding that add up to 12?

    Also, do you see anything different at http://wordpress.com/#!/notifications/ ?

    The preceeding names didn't add up to 12- 'name' plus 9 others only equalled 10.

    The link shows me that the notifications now has infinite scroll which I like very much!

    Ok, going back through the notifications history the Likes entry for that post has 'these people liked your post' and 9 gravatars.
    When I go to the post it has 13 likes.

    http://picsandstuff.wordpress.com/2012/11/21/an-unexpected-visitor-1935/ was the one I referred to in the first comment.

    In case this helps, when I looked back through the notifications history I see that http://picsandstuff.wordpress.com/2012/11/19/frightening-fashion-1912/ says that 'name' and 13 others liked your post but when I go to it there are 16 Llikes, 2 of which are generic gravatars.

    Ok, looking at the more recent ones, it looks like this may have been a temporarily glitch that does not affect more recent posts or likes.

    I'll see what we can do about those earlier ones, but it is possible that we may not be able to fix the total in the notifications menu for those posts. The total on the post page itself is the correct total.

    Don't worry about fixing the earlier ones, as I said in the first comment, I am not really bothered by this I just wanted to point it out in case it was indicating an underlying problem with non-custom gravatars.
