OUTDATED INTERNET EXPLORER???? REALLY?????

  1. I have IE8 ... yet I get the comment that I may have an outdated version of IE. When I did some investigating, I discover it's compatible with IE 7??? What gives???

The blog I need help with is scrivenershelley.wordpress.com.

  2. Please communicate communicate in an appropriate and civil fashion when posting to these support forums. Because if you SHOUT and are into excessive punctuation use then we Volunteers may choose to shun your threads.

IE6 was the dog of all browsers. IE7 was marginally better but still barked and has not been supported since 2011. IE 9 and and IE10 are the most recent versions. However, WordPress still supports IE8.

If you are experiencing issues then please work through what follows.

    1. If you are not running one of the browsers and versions listed at http://browsehappy.com/ please try upgrading or switching first.

    2. If you are using an IE browser in compatibility mode please disable that mode. http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/1196-internet-explorer-compatibility-view-turn-off.html

    3. If you are running one of the browsers and versions listed at http://browsehappy.com/

    (c) And what any error reports you receive state.

  3. Sorry about the duplicated word "communicate" above. I have eye strain and my app is not working well today.

  4. Well, timethief, you needn't worry about "shunning my threads in the future." I found a much more user-friendly site for my blogging and am exiting WordPress. And, just an FYI? I DO KNOW THAT CAPS AND EXCESSIVE PUNCTUATION are rude and considered yelling. I've been around for a few years. They can also be used to express total frustration and exasperation with a product that refuses to cooperate. I would like to thank you, however, by making a new member feel welcomed by talking down to them and telling them how to behave "or else."
