outdated tag cloud - want to learn to update

    I use (and love) the tag cloud widget. However, it only is pulling the most popular tags from my earliest posts. These are currently outdated and I would like the tag cloud to be more reflective of my blog as a whole, versus just my first few months of blogging. I understand that it can only show up to 45 tags, but I would like these tags to be the most tagged throughout the year, versus when I added the widget.

    I have tried removing and re-adding the widget but this did not resolve the problem. I do not know how to further troubleshoot - any advice would be much appreciated!

    There is no means you can use to make the widget operate in any way other than the way it is coded to operate. There is no workaround. But you suggestion can be made in the Ideas Forum. I flagged this thread so it will be moved there for you.

    It does not matter when the Tags Widget is added - it always has the most popular tags since I think forever - as your blog changes directions the most used tags will change

    I looked at the tags more closely and this does appear to be true.

    Those that were tagged earlier have a better chance of being included (for instance I have dozens and dozens of artists tagged exactly two times, but only the early two-taggers made the cut) but the more popular ones are getting bigger over time still.
