I am considering (for want of the technical term) taking the .wordpress.com out of my domain name. I have a few questions:
Do I have full legal ownership and DNS control over the new domain name? Is it mine 100%?
Why is it only 18 usd a year? Other domain hosting sites cost around 70 a year. I know you get what you pay for- what am I not paying for and thus not getting?

Understand that all hosting here is free of charge. The domain you purchase is your for as long and you keep paying annually to renew it.
