Oxygen - Font Color Adjustments. All Fonts.

  1. Hello,

    I couldn't find this issue or fix in the forum or support page.

    I am using the Oxygen theme. I LOVE IT!! It's very simple and inexpensive which is important right now.

    Here is the link to my site. campellpl.com

    My question is - I want to use the black background. It works best for my photos. Is there a way for me to adjust ALL fonts used in Oxygen? If not is there another free theme that would work just as well where I can use the black background and have the ability to adjust all fonts so they work well for my needs? Please see my blog and how I use it. campbellpl.com

    Specifically
    - I can change the color the fonts in in each post to a light shade of gray. Easy to read.
    - I can't figure out how to change the color of the post font on the main/cover page. (It is a shade of gray that is hard to read)
    - I can change the color of the post title on the main page. I'm using a dark blue. Very vibrant.
    - I can't figure out how to change the color of the font of the post title on the post page itself. (It is black and disappears.)

    If I can figure out these two issues Oxygen will work perfectly for me. At least until I come-up against the next issue. :-).

    I hope this is easy to understand.
    Thanks,
    Phil

    The blog I need help with is campbellpl.com.

  2. Hi Phil - You can change all of those colors if you have the Custom Design upgrade: Custom Design

    That lets you change your fonts and colors for your whole theme, and also lets you edit the CSS.

    If you don't want to spring for the upgrade, you can try out a couple of other themes to see if you like them just as well. Here are a couple of suggestions based on what you have: http://theme.wordpress.com/themes/hero/ http://theme.wordpress.com/themes/twentyfourteen/ http://theme.wordpress.com/themes/visual/ http://theme.wordpress.com/themes/sunspot/

  3. Hi Eurello,

    I'm working with the Custom Design before I purchase it to make sure it does what I'm looking for. Up to this point it is hard to use and understand, but I won't give up.

    Still having trouble with this one
    - I can't figure out how to change the color of the font of the post title on the post page itself. (It is black and disappears.)

    Also can I change the font of the main blog title. philipcampbellPHOTOGRAPHY. I really want it to read just like this, small than caps.

  4. Hi Phil,

    For the black post titles, you'd use:

    .entry-title {
         color: #ffffff;
    }

    That turns it white, or you can use any color code you prefer: http://www.w3schools.com/html/html_colors.asp

    For the site title, try:

    .site-title a {
     text-transform: capitalize;
    }
  5. Hi Eurello,

    Thank you so much for all of your help.

    I'm up, running and loving it. Spent the big bucks too. Bought the $89 package deal. Oh well so much for doing this on a shoe string.

    FYI - in my case I needed to use the word 'none' instead of 'capitalize'. Got me looking and doing it on my own though.

    Have a nice evening,
    Phil

  6. Hi Phil - Awesome! I'm glad you're figuring it out.

    We've got a great series on the Daily Post teaching our users basic CSS. You should check these out! They're a big help: http://dailypost.wordpress.com/2013/06/21/css-intro/ https://dailypost.wordpress.com/2013/07/25/css-selectors/ http://dailypost.wordpress.com/2013/08/29/css-matched-rule-pane/

  7. Eurello,

    Just a little more help Please

    I got ride of the right sidebar. Not needed and looks cleaner without it. I'm also trying out a color other that black. Looks good so far.

    The text has stretched to fill the area but the image has not. I have figured out how to stretch single images in the post page but not the Mosaic, my fav. Also in the front page the blog images need to to stretched/enlarged. I've asked for help in the forum. No response. Are you able to give me CSS code to make that happen? Here is what I have so far.

    .entry-title {
    color: #C0C0C0;
    }

    .site-title a {
    text-transform: none;
    }

    .entry-text a {
    color: #C0C0C0;
    }

    #tertiary {
    display: none;
    }

    #content {
    margin-right: 0 !important;
    }

    Plus do you have code to change the post font color for the front page. The code you gave me change it in the post but not in the front page.

    Thanks,
    Phil

  9. Hi Phil -

    That is beyond me, I'm afraid, so you'll have to wait for the CSS folks to reply. Otherwise, you might want to request a quote from Tweaky for them to customize your theme: http://en.support.wordpress.com/customize-my-site/request-theme-customization/

    Hope that helps!
