Page edits --> how to shorten width on body and other stuff

  1. Hello all!

    My website launches tomorrow, and I need some last minute help. This is the page I am working with: http://visuallyaudible.com/about-2/

    I was wondering if there was a way to shorten the width of the body text so that it fit in between the color bars on the left and right of the page.

    Also, if this were possible, would it also be possible to have pictures and more text follow suit, as in be able to stay in between those two color bars?

    Lastly, is there a way to remove the page heading on the upper left hand corner? Please help me out! This is something I really care about, and I want to make it perfect before it releases. Thanks WordPress Community!

    The blog I need help with is visuallyaudible.com.

  2. Give this a try and see what you think. I've targeted only pages.

    .page .main-inner {
    padding: 10px 60px;
    }

    .page #footer {
    padding-left: 60px;
    }
  3. If you want to "fix" the main page as well, add this.

    div.post, div.attachment {
     padding: 0 60px;
    }

    And then take the
    .page
    off of the .page #footer

  4. Sacred Path, you are just a WordPress genius.... for future reference, is there any way I can make text larger (for names) and do you have ANY suggestions for my site? Thanks so much Sacred.

  5. Are you talking about enlarging the text for just a name that is within say a paragraph or something like that?

  6. as a header for a name, for example:

    John Doe(Enlarged Text)

    PHOTO

    Short Bio(regular sized text)

  7. If you are talking about a page title, like "What is VA?" then you can add this to your CSS and then adjust the percentage font size as desired to make the text larger.

    h2.page-title {
    font-size: 150%;
    }

    If you want to increase the size of text (name) within the body of a post or page, in the editor, in the "style/format pulldown at left on the lower row of tools, select h2 or h3 for that text.
