PAGES

  1. Blog: http://lornakismet.wordpress.com
    Theme: Vigilance

I once set things so that no PAGES showed up in the Right Sidebar but not in the Header. Now, however, I want to put them back up but forgot how to do it. How? (I want to continue to have them in the Right Sidebar as well.)

    Thank you......

The blog I need help with is lornakismet.wordpress.com.

  2. Error in the message above!!! That should read:

I once set things so that Pages showed up in the Right Sidebar but not in the Header....... Delete the “no” in front of the “no PAGES" in my first question above.

  4. Oops. I was in error. I actually did have PAGES in my Header but had gathered them all up and put them under one page name.

    Sorry.

  5. I WAS WRONG! I do indeed need to know how to get all my Pages onto the Header. I have one huge collection up there titled PAGES: VIDEOS AND READINGS it is incomplete. Some pages are not in there. 8-(

  6. The Vigilance theme does not display "child pages" also known as sub-pages. You say you gathered them all on a single static page. Did you assign each sub-page as a "child page" of a Parent page in the Attributes box in the right hand column?

Open the sub-pages for editing and see here >

    Attributes
    Parent
    Page Parent

You can arrange your pages in hierarchies. For example, you could have an “About” page that has “Life Story” and “My Dog” pages under it. There are no limits to how deeply nested you can make pages.

If you have assigned each sub-page as a child page of a parent page then all you need to do to provide access to the sub-pages is place the Pages widget in your sidebar. http://en.support.wordpress.com/widgets/pages-widget/

  7. Let me state that first sentence above more clearly: The Vigilance theme does not display "child pages" also known as sub-pages in the horizontal menu. In that theme the only way to provide access to sub-pages is to use the pages widget.

Only these themes have drop-down menus to sub-pages from parent pages that display in the horizontal menu: Bueno, Enterprise (2 dropdown levels - level 1 Pages to sub-pages- level 2 for 10 categories & sub-categories), iNove, Inuit Types, Monochrome, Neutra, Sandbox 1.6.1, Structure, Twenty Ten, Titan and Vostok.

So if you don't want to use a Pages widget then changing themes will be your alternate solution.
