pages of categories?

  1. Is it possible to make a seperate page for certain categories?
Like for example have an xbox 360 page and that page list all my xbox 360 posts?

    thanks

  2. You can create a page and list cateogies with links to posts on it in a text widget. It will not however be atuomatically udating so you will have to do the updating manually. Is this what you are looking for? If so ptvguy provided some instructions for what he calls a "site index page" that you may find useful in this thread http://wordpress.com/forums/topic.php?id=1564&replies=25#post-8708

  3. Thanks alot.
I have decided to move my blog to a domain name, so need to do alot of research and I am going to be making changes

  4. Actually you already have the option to display the posts on seperate pages listed by categories. Just click on the category links found within your sidebar. It will display the last (normally) 10 posts for that category with a link to even more.

    Hope this helps,
    -drmike

  5. Oh, drmike, is that possible? How do you do that? I've made categories but when you click on them below the post it takes you to the wordpress.com tags page. I don't get it...what's the diff between tags and categories?

/me feeling really blond right now

  6. Tags and categories here at wordpress.com are synonmous. drmike said to click on the categories (please excuse the shout) IN YOUR SIDEBAR. I hope that helps. :)

  7. Ah! Yes, I get it now. I still think it's confusing though and leads people off your blog waaaayyy to fast. Perhaps it's me, but if I read an entry and at the bottom it says "filed under blah" I'd expect to be taken to all those entries with blah from *that* blog. I understand how WordPress does it but I'm not at all sure I like it.

  8. BTW, thanks for answering :)

  9. You're welcome. :)
