Pages to direct link...

  1. I am setting up my blog and I want to have the page tab go directly to my Etsy shop. Is this possible?

    Thanks!

The blog I need help with is bluelilydesign.wordpress.com.

  2. Create a custom menu on your free hosted WordPress.com blog.
    http://en.support.wordpress.com/menus/
Add the custom link for your Etsy site to it as a custom link
    http://en.support.wordpress.com/menus/#adding-custom-links

The Etsy widget cannot be used on free hosted WordPress.com blogs. However, many bloggers simply take a screenshot of their Etsy favorites or shop and add it to the sidebar either in a text widget or an image widget with a link to the relevant shop/favorites.
    See here:
    http://en.support.wordpress.com/widgets/text-widget/

  3. Thank you so much! What is a good theme for just wanting the main page to have images to show of my art and then the links at the top?

Let me see if I can explain what I'd like to do as my thoughts are all over the place....

This site here: http://jcspock.com/ is how I would like my site to look.

Is there a way for me to achieve this look? If so what theme would work best? Thank you so much Timetheif.

  4. Note that we Volunteers do not assist with theme selection as it's subjective decision making process and there are over 200 themes. We are focused on providing assistance with support issues only. Use the "find a theme" button and the searchbox here to locate themes of interest to you http://theme.wordpress.com/

You may want to browse photoblogging themes http://theme.wordpress.com/themes/subjects/photography/
For example see Triton Lite, Hatch, Mixfolio, Fontfolio, Autofocus and Imbalance 2 here http://wordpress.com/themes/

  5. re: creating a custom menu on any theme
We organize posts by assigning categories to them. You can create a custom menu and add the dynamic categories pages into the custom menu.

  6. Thank you timethief. Also, how much is it to upgrade to the full version of WordPress? Thank you again!

  7. There is no such thing as purchasing an "upgrade to the full version of WordPress". Upgrades are available for specific purposes and features on free hosted WordPress.com blogs only.

WordPress.com and WordPress.org are completely separate. Read the comparison here > http://support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/
Hire a web host here http://wordpress.org/hosting
Move you content by export http://en.support.wordpress.com/export/ and import it into a WordPress.org install.

NOTE: We provide support only for free hosted WordPress.COM blogs being hosted right here on this multiuser blogging platform. We do not provide support for WordPress.org software. WordPress.com and WordPress.org are completely separate, have different log-ins and run different versions of themes with same names.
    http://support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/

If you don't have a username account at WordPress.ORG click http://wordpress.org/support/ and register one on the top right hand corner of the page that opens, so you can post to the support forums there and receive advice from WordPress.ORG bloggers.

  8. Thank you. Have a great day!

  9. You too and best wishes with your blogging. :)
