Pages Widget with Rubric theme

  1. Hello. I just started my wordpress blog today. I am trying to set up the appearance of my blog. I have three pages so far that I want to display on my blog. I cannot get the pages widget to show with the Rubric theme and I don't know why. Please help?

The blog I need help with is fundraisernews.wordpress.com.

  2. Have you created and published any pages yet? If you have no published pages, then the pages widget will not show in the sidebar.

  3. I published a test blog to see if the pages would display, but they did not.

  4. At appearance > widgets, in the "sidebar" module at the right, does the pages widget show there?

  5. And have you published the pages? If so, what are the titles of the pages?

  6. Hello there. I think I can lend a hand here. A post is not a page. They are two very different things. Pages sit outside the blog structure. They are staitic and not dynamic as posts are. Static pages are meant to be used for content that rarely, if ever, changes. Until you actually publish a Page the Pages widget has not data to display. The entries from the support documentaion are worth while reading so you comprehend the differences and make good choices:

  7. Thank you very much thesacredpath and timetheif. I read the info suggested and I did publish a post. What I didn't realize is, I have to publish the pages as well. This is the understanding I got from your replies. Please inform me if I am mistaken.

  8. That is correct. For a page or post to show on the blog, they both have to be published.

  9. You all are great! Thanks

  10. You're very welcome.

  11. You're welcome. :)

  12. It works!!!!!!
