Pay Pal Free Theme

  1. Can you use Pay Pal with a regular theme? I just switched to Chateau and I love it, but need to add a Pay Pal button. Can I do it on this theme or do I need to upgrade to Premium?

The blog I need help with is ladolcevilla.net.

  2. You seem to have turned off your Theme and footer credits - that is a violation of the Terms of Service and can get your blog suspended.

  3. 1. re: what auxclass said:

May I remove the ‘Blog at WordPress.com’ credit in my site’s footer?
Although the Custom Design Upgrade certainly grants you the capability to hide the credit from your site’s footer, you are not permitted to do so. Even our VIP bloggers are required to maintain the credit. http://en.support.wordpress.com/custom-design/#frequently-asked-questions

    2. WordPress.com blogs cannot be equipped for ecommerce transactions and there is not upgrade you can purchase to get that. We can use the unencrypted PayPal donation button and the contact form only.

  4. 3. No blogger initiated advertising, retailing or reselling the work created or services provided by anyone other than yourself is allowed on free hosted wordpress.COM blogs. E-commerce transactions via shopping carts and the like cannot be conducted on free blogs from and being free hosted by wordpress.COM

  5. OMG. I did not knowingly turn off my Theme credits or my footer credits. I was trying to add a PayPal button, and thought this could be done. If I am mistaken, please advise. I will happily upgrade, no problem, if that is the soluation. I am in a panic. Please advise me how to turn them on ASAP.

I am still very 'green' in this blogging world. Thanks. Lisa

  6. Now that I have digested your comments I realize I cannot add the Pay Pal button to my wordpress.com blog. Not a problem. Please help me so I am not suspended. I have worked very hard and am 'self-taught', but apparently I need more HELP......

  7. Me again. My brain is waking up. Two days ago I switched to the Chateau theme as I thought it was so beautiful. Then I spoke to Pay Pal as I wanted to sell on my blog. The person I spoke to said, 'try and publish a post' as the button did not seem to be working. I put Pay Pal in my Subject area and Published........ I need your help to get back on track. Don't know how this took out the wordpress credit or footer???? When I took a look at the blog, the footer was in black and I could not even ready it. I do not have the pay pal button on my blog. Please advise and Thanks. Lisa

  8. If you don't have the CSS upgrade and used it to turn off the footer then you probably have a messed up formatting in one or more of your Posts, with an open div tag or something.

Dashboard >> Settings >> Writing >> WordPress should correct invalidly nested XHTML automatically

Then open each Post and make a small change and update the Post and see if that fixes the problem - repeat as required.
