Paypal

  1. The paypal button is unclickable. I followed all the directions you have on your site. I then even tried to come up with my own combination of codes to make the paypal donation button clickable and it doesn't work. I used to have a paypal donation button in the same location on my blog and it used to work, but I started a new paypal account and I wanted to change the button on my site. But for some reason even though I follow all the directions you have and use all the correct codes, the button is unclickable.

The blog I need help with is hebavsreason.wordpress.com.

  2. I'm sorry but unless you follow the PayPal donation button guide to the letter without adding or omitting or changing even the tiniest detail the button will not operate. Hence all I can do is to suggest you try this all over again. http://en.support.wordpress.com/paypal/

  3. I tried doing it last week and I tried doing it this week. I tried doing it over 20 times following the directions step-by-step. I didn't stray from the directions at all the first 20 times. It's still not working though. And I know what I'm doing because I have added this button before to my blog with no problems. Only now with this new paypal account am I having this problem. I FOLLOWED THE DIRECTIONS. Something else is clearly warped or wrong and I don't know how to fix it.

  5. Hi there,

So you've just pasted your code in there, but you need to use that as an anchor link attached to the image.

I've gone ahead and done this for you, which you can review here:
    https://hebavsreason.wordpress.com/wp-admin/widgets.php

Notice that your code from PayPal beginning with https had to be wrapped around the button code.

    You should be all set!

  6. I must be a complete idiot because I still don't understand. I tried deleting everything that was in the text widget and just put in the generated code for websites and that didn't work. So then I tried putting in the generated code for emails and that didn't work. I don't understand why I was able to do this with my previous paypal account with no problem and this time I can't seem to get it to work at all.

  7. I had updated this for you so you wouldn't have to do it, but I can try to explain in greater detail here so you can complete the steps on your blog.

You right now just have the code for the URL people would visit to see the PayPal screen to donate.

What you need is to add a button for people to click, that would take people to that URL.

Here is what you would do:

    1. Take this code

    <a href="XXX"><img src="https://www.paypal.com/en_US/i/btn/btn_donate_LG.gif" alt="" /></a>

    2. Put this code in your widget

    3. Where XXX appears, put the URL that you have in the widget now

    4. Save!

Let me know if these steps work out ok for you!
