PDF FILE

  1. Hi. My blog address is http://www.ashkdesign.wordpress.com. The problem is, when I google myself, I get a link for pdf file that is of my CV. I had uploaded this previously however, I deleted the file and the entry, so I am not sure why that link is still searchable. This is a serious concern as my CV has confidential content. This is the link for the PDF that comes up: http://ashkdesign.files.wordpress.com/2011/09/aysha-khalid-cv1.pdf
    Blog url: http://ashkdesign.wordpress.com/

  2. Please be aware that indexed content in Googles cache remains there until they flush their caches which is every 3 - 6 months time. We canot help with any search engine issues. However, as there is confidential content you can try to use the URL removal tool. http://support.google.com/webmasters/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=164734

  3. thanks, but the link does not take me anywhere, its an inactive webpage??

  4. It works for me. It's a link to Google's Remove a page or site from Google's search results page and you will have to log-in to your Google webmaster's account to use the URL removal tool.

  5. Remember that Google is only one of many places information is cached on the internet - there are some sites that specialize in PDF files - most of them are links to content - but many places things are stored.

  6. Yahoo, quite frankly, never gets rid of anything unless forced. Very useful sometiems.
