Permalink switch working fine?

  1. Hi there.

I just switched my permalink system from the default:

    http://www.elblogdeanna.es/?p=412

    to a custom structure:

    /%postname%/ (which now reads http://www.elblogdeanna.es/mi-foto-preferida-de-anna-este-verano/)

The fact is old links both indexed on Google and the ones placed in the text of all my posts are hardlinked to the default system, which I thought were not going to work when switching to the custom structure.

But the fact is that my self hosted WordPress (2.5) is translating the old type of links into the new equivalent on the fly! I thought I was going to need a plugin for this in order to avoid error pages!

Can someone confirm whether this was implemented to a WordPress version or am I missing something that I have done without realising to make this work?

    Thank you very much.

  2. We cannot change the permalink structure here at wordpress.COM, the free hosting service so we cannot even begin to answer your question.

You need to inquire over at http://wordpress.ORG/support/ which is where self-hosted blogs are supported.

  3. My apologies. Thank you 'thesacredpath'.

  4. You're welcome.
