PET OWNERS: CAT NICKNAMES VS DOG NICKNAMES

    Well the NAIA national tournament is under way and since this place doesn't have all that many sports fans I'll cover it in a unique way. The Davenport Panthers won the first game 72-68 and since Panthers is a cat nickname cats are now 1-0 in the tournament. This post at my blog will be updated all day long as the games go on. (For people unfamiliar with the NAIA all their games take place at one venue, that's why they got started over 2 hours ago already.)

    Dog and cat owners can keep track of how their type of pets are doing by checking this link at my blog throughout the day.

    Game 8 is going on now with a dog named team to close out the 1st day of the NAIA tournament.

    DAY TWO is underway and right out of the box we have another cat result to report with Iowa Wesleyan taking on IUS. Since cats and dogs aren't involved in the same number of games when it is all over I'll go by winning percentage, not flat wins and losses.     Since game 7 and game 8 last night did not involve teams with cat or dog nicknames I didn't bother posting updates on those. Here on Day 3 of the tournament we are starting Round 2 and had a cat nickname right out of the gate. Davenport University Panthers vs the Black Hills State Yellow Jackets.     Okay, great, thanks! It's nice to see the cats being so magnanimous about all this. I'll let you know when the thing is ready. (We sound like Mafiosi avoiding specifics in case their phones are tapped - "Did you talk to that guy about that thing?")
