photos in sidebar

  1. Hi there,
    I noticed recently some photos in my sidebar. I think I'm using the Digg3 template. I'm fairly sure I didn't put those photos there as they are a very strange choice. Is this a new feature? Is it possible to have a photo slideshow that changes every few seconds in the sidebar?

    The blog I need help with is thegroundhog.wordpress.com.

  2. Are they your photos? Looking at the code, it's a picasaweb gallery. I didn't know that would work here:

    <font face="arial">		</font><div id="text-5" class="widget widget_text"><font face="arial">			</font><h2 class="title"><font face="arial">Photo Gallery</font></h2><font face="arial">			</font><div class="textwidget"><table style="width: 194px;"><tbody><tr><td style="background: transparent url(http://picasaweb.google.com/f/img/transparent_album_background.gif) no-repeat scroll left center; height: 194px; -moz-background-clip: -moz-initial; -moz-background-origin: -moz-initial; -moz-background-inline-policy: -moz-initial;" align="center"><a href="http://picasaweb.google.com/dnp1972/NLBroctonCoppiceCollieryGround"><img src="http://lh5.google.com/dnp1972/R30_HLIMStE/AAAAAAAAAUU/Vk6dB7W8d7Y/s160-c/NLBroctonCoppiceCollieryGround.jpg" style="margin: 1px 0pt 0pt 4px;" width="160" height="160"></a></td></tr><tr><td style="text-align: center; font-family: arial,sans-serif; font-size: 11px;"><a href="http://picasaweb.google.com/dnp1972/NLBroctonCoppiceCollieryGround">NL Brocton - Coppice Colliery Ground</a></td></tr></tbody></table>

    <table style="width: 194px;"><tbody><tr><td style="background: transparent url(http://picasaweb.google.com/f/img/transparent_album_background.gif) no-repeat scroll left center; height: 194px; -moz-background-clip: -moz-initial; -moz-background-origin: -moz-initial; -moz-background-inline-policy: -moz-initial;" align="center"><a href="http://picasaweb.google.com/dnp1972/NLStoneDominoesSpringbankPark"><img src="http://lh6.google.com/dnp1972/R22V5bIMSWE/AAAAAAAAAPs/AQe5L1OHC2A/s160-c/NLStoneDominoesSpringbankPark.jpg" style="margin: 1px 0pt 0pt 4px;" width="160" height="160"></a></td></tr><tr><td style="text-align: center; font-family: arial,sans-serif; font-size: 11px;"><a href="http://picasaweb.google.com/dnp1972/NLStoneDominoesSpringbankPark">NL Stone Dominoes - Springbank Park</a></td></tr></tbody></table>

    </div>

    What does it say on your Widget page? Do you have a text widget there, or what? Staff were tinkering with widgets a couple of weeks ago, but I thought they were done by now.

  3. And as far as I know, there's no dynamic photowidget that works in the sidebar of a WP.com blog.

  4. Hi Raincoaster,
    Thanks for replying. Yes they are my photos and albums but not ones I'd have chosen.

  5. Well, if you can open the widget you should be able to sub in the link to any pic in that album just by putting it in the place of the old ones.
