Pictures while scrolling

  1. I'm not that great at explaining stuff so this may be a bit longer than it needs to be.

Okay, see how the layout looks on this page?

When you scroll down you see all of the latest posts, pictures and everything. But if you click on a tag...

Then it doesn't show the pictures and tells you to keep reading. A while back I used to be able to see the pictures, but I'm not sure how they disappeared or how to get them back. Any ideas on how I may have disabled them?

The blog I need help with is dreager1.com.

  2. Bump

  3. Have you changed themes recently?
Twenty Ten automatically displays a summary (excerpt) for each post in archives/categories.

You can however make a custom excerpt including images which will display in archive/category view:

    http://en.support.wordpress.com/splitting-content/excerpts/

  4. Yes, my current theme is Twenty Ten so I guess that's probably it.

But even with a custom excerpt would I be able to have it show the whole article or I'd still only be able to fit a limited amount?

If not, with the custom excerpt could I have each match just show the pics instead of the mild summary instead of words and no pics?

  5. The theme is displaying exactly the way it is designed to display, which is excerpts only on the front page of the blog but it does have an active excerpt box below the post editor, so you can control the length of the excerpt displayed. This is the workaround you can use to override excerpt display on the front page and display a whole post instead.

When creating a post or page on your WordPress.com blog, you have two editing modes available to you: Visual Editor and Text Editor (HTML).

You compose your whole post first in the Visual editor and before you publish it you switch to the HTML (Text) editor, copy all the code you find there, paste it into the Excerpt box, and publish the post. http://en.support.wordpress.com/splitting-content/excerpts/#creating-excerpts

This will have to be done on every post.

  6. On all of my posts o-O That definitely sounds like of work (9000 posts) Is there any theme that displays the complete posts like the old one I had? I would go with the old one, but I like the way I have the pages set up in black on the top

    http://dreager1.com/

Do you know of any themes that accommodate both options?

  7. Whether or not full posts are displayed on Categories Pages and Archives pages is theme dependent ie. it's coded into the template and we cannot edit templates or themes. http://en.support.wordpress.com/themes/editing-themes/

In the majority of themes, posts on category or other archive pages show up just as they do on the main posts page in the blog and the number displayed is also the same. (See this page > Settings > Reading and note how many posts you choose there sets it for all). But in some themes only the beginnings of posts are shown, and in a few themes you only get titles or thumbnails. See here for a theme list of themes that may display the way you want > Category/archive pages: full posts or not http://wpbtips.wordpress.com/2009/03/25/full-posts-in-archive-pages/

Note: We can insert "the more tag" into posts on any theme to create front page excerpts. http://en.support.wordpress.com/splitting-content/more-tag/

  8. Thank you Timethief I was able to find a theme from the link that has everything. So thanks for the help =D

  9. You're welcome.
