   When I create a new "post" and "save" it, a "ping back" is generated (and again and again, each time I resave it). It doesn't happen on "pages" (just "posts"). Any idea what's causing this? Is this normal? Will they be sent to "followers" who ask to be notified of comments? (they show up under comments in the dashboard)

   When you link to ana ealier post in an new post a pingback is generated. Most of us simply approve them or delete them. If you wish you can stop self-pings.
