  1. I am just not understanding how to do a pingback for my Daily Prompt posts. I have read it over and over, but I'm just not getting it. Please help.
    Daily prompt

The blog I need help with is ajgoode.wordpress.com.

  2. Please read this guide http://en.support.wordpress.com/comments/pingbacks/
Pings are automatically sent if you have selected to make your blog visible to everyone on the Settings > Privacy page. If your blog is private or if you block search engines, pings will not be sent.

  3. So basically, I put a link to the Daily Prompt post somewhere within the body of my own post? And that's it?

I think I've been making it harder than it really had to be.

Of course, now I have a new issue that I can't seem to get to the Daily Prompt today because my computer locks up every single time I click on Daily Prompt. I can go anywhere else, but there. I've re-started my computer at least a dozen times today, all because of DP. ANy suggestions?

  4. Yes. From: http://dailypost.wordpress.com/2013/04/28/daily-prompt-cringeworthy/

Please note that comments are always closed on daily prompts. Pingbacks are always enabled; if you link to the prompt post on your blog, a link to your post will appear in the list below the prompt.

If you are not running one of the browsers and versions listed at http://browsehappy.com/ please try upgrading or switching first.

Note: If you are using an IE9 browser in compatibility mode that makes it render as IE7 and IE7 is not supported. To disable see > http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/1196-internet-explorer-compatibility-view-turn-off.html

If you are running one of the browsers and versions listed at http://browsehappy.com please do these four things:

    1. Try clearing your browser’s cache:

    2. Make sure that you have third-party cookies enabled: http://en.support.wordpress.com/third-party-cookies/

    3. Try with all browser extensions or add-ons temporarily disabled.

    4. Try enabling HTTPS: http://en.support.wordpress.com/https/

If it’s still happening, let us know exactly which browser (and version of it) you’re using by checking here if necessary http://www.whatbrowser.org/ and also post any error reports you get.

  6. Okay, I got it to work. Thank you so much for all of your help.

It just seemed so odd that I've never had to do any of those steps before today. But at any rate, it works now, so it's all good.

    Thanks again!

  7. That's good news. You're welcome. Please bookmark the steps above as it's inevitable that you will need them again at some point.

  8. I can't understand how to set a pingback? I've read and reread the I instructions, but I still don't get it. I want a poem to pingback to Daily Prompt: Unleash Your Inner Dickinson, but I can't do it no matter what I have tried...

    Thanks.
