Pinterest follow me widget wont display correctly

  1. Hi,
I've followed the instructions shown here to add a pinterest follow me widget to my site. However all I get is a text link, not the actual button. I've been successful with the bloglovin' version, so not sure what the problem is?

The blog I need help with is lifeinsurryhills.com.

  2. The pin it button is JavaScript. We cannot use JavaScript pin-it widgets nor can we install any plugins on free hosted WordPress.com blogs, so do be clear on that please.

You can capture an image of a Pinterest icon and upload it, link to it and display it in a text widget. I have done this here in the text widget at the top of my sidebar for those who want to follow me on Pinterest http://thistimethisspace.com/ and here on my About page http://thistimethisspace.com/about

For creating links in a text widget see:

    NOTE http://en.support.wordpress.com/widgets/text-widget/#adding-an-image

You can upload image files by clicking the Add Media button right above the editing area of a page or a post. http://en.support.wordpress.com/add-media/

You can also upload new files to your Media Library using Media → Add New. http://support.wordpress.com/media/media-add-new

You enable sharing buttons including a Pinterest one to display at the bottom of your posts. http://en.support.wordpress.com/sharing/
