Please add ability to add OpenStreetMap to WP pages

  1. I'd really like to add a OpenStreetMap map to my blog pages. There's a really nice way of doing this for Google Maps - but I really need Open Street Map...... pretty please? I don't think it would be difficult - it works in an iframe same way as google. e,g, <iframe width="425" height="350" frameborder="0" scrolling="no" marginheight="0" marginwidth="0" src="http://www.openstreetmap.org/export/embed.html?bbox=-2.2979,51.7012,-2.131,51.7788&layer=mapnik" style="border: 1px solid black"></iframe>

    Thanks
    Huwgle

The blog I need help with is letsmapstroud.wordpress.com.

  2. There is already a plugin - but presume I can't add this to WP.com
    http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/osm/

    Ta

  3. You can't use plugins here, but there MIGHT be a way using the Gigya Shortcode, which you can read about on http://wpbtips.wordpress.com

  4. Thanks - gave it bash following the instructions but didn't seem to work

    From:
    http://www.openstreetmap.org/export/embed.html?bbox=-2.2979,51.7012,-2.131,51.7788&layer=mapnik

    I came up with:
    [gigya src="http://www.openstreetmap.org/export/embed.html" bbox="-2.2979,51.7012,-2.131,51.7788" layer="mapnik"]

    Might be doing it wrong.....

  5. Wrong, because the gigya shortcode is for flash objects/URLs, not any object or URL.

  6. @huwgle,
You might like to try out the solution in this post instead:
