  3. Did you publish the page?

Are you using a custom menu?

  4. I'm having the same problem. I am using a custom menu. Can you please help?

  5. For details on custom menus see here:

Yes, I published the page but this does not become apparent neither at the first page nor at the menu bar, so no one can either find it or guess it has been added.

  7. Go to Appearance > Menus and make sure the blank option is selected in the Theme Locations pulldown. If you're not seeing the Theme Locations module while on Appearance > Menus, click Screen Options (top right) to activate it.

Sorry... but I´m having new problems. Once I have added the pages to the menu bar, the first page (that was displayed formerly) with ALL its contents has suddenly disappeared! How can I retrieve it?

Mistaken question: the previous posts were all there, clicking on "home". What a relief...
    Thanks, everybody!

  11. I finally figured it out. Thank you all so much and have a great holiday weekend.

NEW QUESTION: Now that I´ve managed to put the page titles on the menu, how can I set them in the order I expect them to be? The current order seems at random.
    Thanks!

  13. Custom Menu - Troubleshooting – My pages are in the wrong order
Check the sub-pages themselves to see if you have established a Parent page and child page “hierarchical structure” in the page attributes module. Remove if required. Also remove any “order” numbers you have assigned that may conflict with the order you are creating by dropping and dragging. Or simply change them so they are the same order as you establish in the menu. Establish consistency – problem solved.
    See here please > http://en.support.wordpress.com/menus/#changing-the-order-of-menu-items-and-creating-sub-menus

  14. In my opinion, a large number of (long) page tabs in the header is neither elegant nor practical. I would suggest you display most of your pages in the sidebar, or display a few short tabs in the header, with dropdowns to the rest. In both cases you'll need to create a custom menu. A custom menu also allows you to easily arrange the tabs in the order you prefer.

    Dear Justpi,
Please, what is a sidebar? I have seen wordpress pages where the links to different pages are found on the right side of the home page (not in the menu). That would be far more elegant than displaying them all in a random order in the menu bar above (below the photo), which is my current situation. The only problem is that I can´t figure out HOW to do that...
    Thanks a lot!
    Roberto

PS My custom menu has already been saved, according to former instructions on this forum.

Thanks to you also, dear timethief!
I don´t need any hierarchical order since the pages whose links are shown in the menu bar are equivalent, except the "home" and the "curriculum" pages. However - and as I mentioned above - displaying all the links except these two at the right side, if possible, would be much more satisfying.
    Best,
    Roberto

  17. The sidebar is the right column in the theme you're using (currently displaying "Archives" and "Meta"). Just go to Appearance > Widgets and drag the Pages widget to Sidebar, possibly other widgets as well. For info on widgets see here:
    http://en.support.wordpress.com/?s=widgets

If you add the Pages widget then the top menu will be redundant. To remove it, go to Appearance > Menus, click the plus sign to add a menu, give it a name, add nothing to it, click Save Menu, select that menu from the Theme Locations pulldown, save.

    New problems...
Dear justpi: I managed to make the sidebar appear by using the widgets tag snd yes, indeed, now the menu bar is redundant. However, there are two details: at the top of the sidebar, and with a different type letters, the htpp page link from the first page appears, and I´d like to remove it. Furthermore, I´d like to remove the "About" link, and leave it ONLY in the menu bar. Is this possible?
    Thanks again!

However, there are two remaining details: at the top of the sidebar, and with different type letters, the htpp page link from the first page appears, and I´d like to remove it (it´s certainly not elegant). 20. 1) No such thing is supposed to appear there. (Did you paste the link yourself?) Go to Appearance > Widgets, open the Pages widget you have added and type the title you prefer in the Title field; also, type the number 2 in the Exclude field, to remove the About page; then click Save.

    2) Same instructions as in my previous reply, only you'll add the Home item and the About page to the custom menu you'll create. See here as well:

    Dear justpi,
The sidebar is now correct. Neither is the unwanted "http" there anymore, nor the "About" link.
However, I´m still doing something wrong since I cannot remove the redundant links from the menu bar. I click on "Appearance", then "Menus", and activate "Remove" for each unwanted page (the "home" link isn´t there), and they do disappear from the list in the dashboard, but they still remain in the menu bar.
Thank you very much for your kind assistance, I believe I´m almost there by now!
    Best,
    Roberto

  22. Remove? Who said anything about removing? You don't remove anything, you just replace the existing top menu with one that includes only the items you want.
You go to Appearance > Menus, click the plus sign to add a menu, give it a name (say, "My Top Menu"); click View All in the Pages module, select Home and About, click Add to Menu; click Save Menu; select that menu from the Theme Locations pulldown, click Save.

  25. You're welcome!
Argentina is a bit far from where I live...
(And where I live is Greece, so I'm curious to know how come a couple of your pages are in Greek!)
