please i am new, i need your help, thank you

    hello evrybody and happy new year 2008,i am a new blogger ,i need your help,i want to know how could i shorten a long text of my thread?i mean what can i do to make my main borad page looks attractive and easy to view?how can visitors of my blog read only few lines of my thread and when they click on "read more" they can view my whole long text,thank you so very much inded for your help and for taking time to read and answer me

    oh please dear ellaella and the other members i thought it is easy but not,i couldn't shorten my text,can you tell me where to put "more" and is it before i post my text or after,and when shall i click on the symbol number 13,is it before posting my text or after?i want to edit my posts and shorten my text to let only 7 lines with "more" at the end of the 7 lines,i am lost please help

  6. In the visual editor, click on the split post icon (#13 - take a look at the link below) after the last text you want showing on the front page. Save it. You'll see the break line in the visual editor but not in preview mode. It will be there when you publish.

  7. When you've published, make sure you're on your main blog page, not the post-specific page. The 'more' feature is only operative on the main home page.

    thank you for your time and your replies,i am trying and will be back to you to tell you if it works,,oh before i forget,,i already post my thread with a long text,i click on "edit" to have again my long text on the editor then i click on the icon number 13 but i see that "more" is visible next to the title of my text and not at the end of the seven lines of my text,,then when i want to view my front page i see only "keeping more" ,,no title ,,no seven lines of my text,,what shall i do,,,shall i delete this thread and start to publish it again?can you explain it to me step by step please,,i mean,,1,,then 2,,then 3,,,,,,thank you

  10. Can you give us a link to the post so we can see it? Then it's easier to see what is going wrong. You should be able to go to Edit and click on the dotted line and hit Delete and then reposition it after your seven lines of text.

    i just follow your advice,,i succeed to have my seven lines with "keep reading" at the bottom but on the main page when i click on "keep reading",there is only my seven lines the rest of my long text disappeared,,can you tell me why,,and as i ask you,,please can you tell me what to do step by step,,because it is my first time i create a blog

    thank you everyone ,i succeed to shorten my text,but please can you tell me how to reduce the font size of my text,because it has changed suddenly to bigger font size,,second question,at the end of my seven lines we can see"keep reading" with the same colour as the text,how can i change this and have "more" in bleu or green colour instead of "keep reading"in black colour? thank you for your time
