   I want it to stay simple. I want to make money from it. I am wondering if I should use a static introduction page, then people can click on the team that they want to read about.

   At the present time we cannot advertise on wordpress.com blogs and cannot use them to drive traffic to 3rd party sites. If we try to anyway our blogs can be deleted.

   It sounds to me like you need the other wordpress alternative. Hire a webhost and download free software from wordpress.org and then you can use your new wordpress.org blog the way you intend.
