   Plugins cannot be used at wordpress.COM for security reasons. Plugins are for self-hosted wordpress sites using the software from wordpress.ORG.

   There is no FTP access to free hosted WordPress.com blogs and we cannot install pluings, or upload third-party themes, or edit templates or themes. Those plugins and themes found on the internet are for WordPress.ORG installs which run on different software.

   There is no upgrade you can purchase from WordPress.com that changes anything stated here http://support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/ and restated again here > http://en.support.wordpress.com/domain-mapping/#important-notes-before-upgrading

   If you want to have a blog you have FTP access to, plugins and/or want to install themes into then you will need to hire a web host and set up your own WordPress.org install. http://support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/
