Plugins for VIP or MU?

  1. Hi all,

I have a question regarding plugins. I know that plugins are not compatible with the basic wordpress.com service. But what about the enhanced versions. Is it possible to develop and enable plugins for WordPress.com's VIP or MU services?

Thanks in advance for your help.

    Kind regards,

    drofwarc

  2. I assume you can with MU and I know you can with VIP but the question is -- do you qualify for VIP? If you're getting about 500,000 hits per month, you might. And can you afford the several hundred $$ per month for it?

Plus the several hundred just to set it up?

  4. Thanks for the replies!

So plugins can be used on VIP. Does anybody have knowledge about MU?

(The cost is not a factor because I'm involved with developing the plugin, not the website:)

    Kind regards,

WordPress MU is what is used here although the version here is highly modified from the normal MU. It is a multi-user package to allow multiple blogs off of one set of files. If you are only wanting one blog, and are not setting up a blogging service then the standard version of wordpress would be what you want. http://wordpress.ORG/

  6. Thanks thesacredpath,

I checked out the link you provided and got my answer -- most plugins work on MU!

  7. You're welcome.
