Plugins that are built in for WordPress.com premium customers

  1. I don't have a premium account yet but have a question.

I understand that you don't allow plugins for WordPress.com for security reasons and honestly that is all the information I've found is just that...WordPress moderators saying "We don't offer plugins for wordpress.com sites for security reasons. Please visit this site for details about built in plug ins..."

IS THERE a built in plug in offered for recipes? I don't want to pay $99.00 for something that I won't be getting is all.

    I'd appreciate help...thanks!

The blog I need help with is kimsinthekitchen.wordpress.com.

  2. Hi there,
See here > shortcodes > recipes
    http://en.support.wordpress.com/shortcodes/recipes/

  3. And the short code @TT links to is built into every blog here - no need for an upgrade

  4. Thanks for the information but I'm quite new to creating a new blog in this way. I am from Blogger so it was all done and I didn't really have to do anything.

I don't know how to install this or anything. I also am not in a position where I can spend a bunch of money to have someone create a site for me...

    Any suggestions for that? LOL

  5. I repeat > See here > shortcodes > recipes

Clearly you did not click in and read the support section I provided the link to. There is no installation of anything required.

To add a recipe to your site, start with the [recipe] shortcode. Everything between the opening [recipe] and closing [/recipe] tags will be set apart as the recipe on your page.

  7. Clearly I didn't...sorry.

  8. It's okay and note that using shortcodes is easy as pie.

By default the front page of the blog is the only page that will display all published posts on it. As soon as you publish a post not a page the error message will be gone. http://en.support.wordpress.com/post-vs-page/

On the bottom of your Admin page you will find a link to the Learn WordPress.com blogging Tutorial prepared by Staff. http://learn.wordpress.com/

The support documentation is all found at the Support link http://en.support.wordpress.com which is also on the bottom of your Admin page.

Lastly, you need to change the blog linked to your username from the one you deleted to the active one. Instructions are here http://onecoolsitebloggingtips.com/2007/10/06/link-your-username-to-your-blog/
