Porn tag: are posts "invisible"?

  1. I'm wondering if posts that are tagged "Porn" are automatically excluded from Latest Posts, Top Posts, etc on WordPress. I've made several posts lately tagged that way, although they're not really 18+, and haven't seen them on Latest Posts, so that got me wondering.

  2. latest and top posts, i think probably yes as that is available to all bloggers...

  3. ... automatically excluded from ... Top Posts, etc ...

    I sure hope so.

    Edit: @rain
I see your pole dancer one on the tag page.

  4. easiest way to check: http://wordpress.com/tag/porn/

  5. Thanks. I know they're visible on the Porn tag page, but my question is about latest posts and top posts.

  6. Staff told me in the past that blogs marked as mature were not in the old top listing system. Not sure about the new one.

I seriously doubt that porn tagged posts are excluded because there's nothing that would automatically make them mature. (Should a born again Christian making a post discusing the 'evils of porn' be restricted as such?) If that was so, then we would also see sex, death, and other such tags excluded as such and we all know that's not true.

  7. Well, having tested things it seems that the Porn tag is taken out of general consideration, while the sex tag, ferinstance, isn't. I will keep that in mind when I go to tag things in future.

  8. Are you guys posting porn that you dont want me to see, or what?
Dont need a porn tag for it to show up on 'latest posts'. December was busy; January has been very quiet so far there.

  9. i checked the porn tag out, nothing porn at all... just talking about it... besides wp.com won't allow real porn to be in tags

  10. It's all the Santa porn, I guess. I still have never gotten anything with the Porn tag to show up in latest updated...but yes, it's visible on the tag pages and I'm pretty sure my post about the Britney sex tape made it into Top Posts once back in the day. Weird, must be just that my computer is too slow to catch it.

  11. @ sulz

i checked the porn tag out, nothing porn at all... just talking about it... besides wp.com won't allow real porn to be in tags

Ahem ... nothing porn at all ... just talking about it? Well, hands down I'm calling you wrong on that one, for sure.

I just randomly clicked on a "sex" title and hit a site with a grouper video that was automatically playing. It was a video depicting a woman with tubular tits having sex with a man. Obviously, he was a mere object as his head was not even depicted and frankly he appeared to be quite a lifeless unenthusiastic non-participant.

I reported the site as "mature". Remember that wordpress staff don't know what's there until and unless it's reported.

I certainly hope this amateur video is not eligible for "top" anything. She's marketing her crotch services under her name so I think we can safely conclude there's not much between her ears.

  12. Well that's one that slipped through the gap, so to speak. Probably the reason sulz didn't find any real porn on that tag is that other people, finding actual porn, have done just what you did.

PS Timethief: what else would you expect from a "grouper" video, eh? Are you sure there were only two of them?

  13. *lol*
Setting the joke aside, it's truly sad to see women with such low self esteem and a dearth of skills that all they have to market is this.

  14. Maybe they'll all taking about Porn 'n Chicken and Bush's acting ability. :)

And, with all due respect to TT, there are women in the industry who are have happy and very well off with what they're doing.

    Amazes me too sometimes. :)

But we're getting off topic and away from support yet again...

  15. Well off, I have no doubt that some are. But truly happy - bull s***. Human beings long to be respected and cherished and when they are then, they are truly happy. Just how much respect does any "customer" have for a used well used old, skanky hankie? And who do you know that cherishes one?

  16. Now, TT, you can't tell from a woman's profession whether or not she is loved. Or a man's, either.

  17. @rain
You used two words that I didn't.
    They are "profession" and "love".
Edit: post removed but soon to be expanded and published at http://irreverentfeedback.wordpress.com

  18. Timethief, it sounds like what you've got there is a blog post. I'm not going to assume that sex trade workers can't speak for themselves in the comments section thereof, so I won't speak for them now.

  19. Anyway...

  20. This is the only place I can see to object to a porn site link appearing on my sign in page, or whatever - at least the first page that appears. I clicked on it thinking it might be something about Christ. I was taken to a page where warnings about adult content were rife and ads for porn sites advertised at the top. Why is this here if WP does not allow porn?

  21. mindsongbooks - what is the exact url to that site?

(I will delete the address once I have checked)

  22. This is the only place I can see to object to a porn site link appearing

For future reference, if you hover over the 'Blog Info' link on the right-hand side of your navbar, you will get a dropdown menu including a 'Report as mature' option.
