Is there a simple way to clear all blog content (posts, comments, categories, etc.) without deleting the blog itself? I'd like to clear my test blog of all its old, jumbled content in order to start fresh, but I don't want to delete the blog and lose the name forever.
The blog I need help with is piedtype.com.
You can use the bulk edit features on the post > posts, pages > pages, posts > categories and posts > tags pages.
First while on one of those pages, go to the "screen options" tab and increase the number of entries to show to something like 75 (it seems to choke on anything larger than that).
Next, click the check box in the upper left hand corner of the list (top blue/grey bar) to select all. Next, select "delete" from the bulk actions pulldown and then click the "apply" button. Do that till all the stuff is gone.
Ah, didn't realize I could increase that to as much as 75 per page. Twenty at a time was going to take forever. Thanks.
You're welcome. Look through all the "screen options" for the different pages. You can customize the screens to have only what you need or want on them. I tend to pare mine down to a minimum to reduce clutter.
You can also approach Support to delete all the content in one go. Just make it clear that you don't want to delete the blog itself. :)
O by the way, it helps to remove the media attached to the post. Just go to the 'Media' tab.
