For some reason my post editor is not showing the difference between html and visual. In fact I can't even select the html editor it is stuck on visual. At the same time all the html options are stuck in my visual editor. There should be 2 different types of editors that you can toggle between!
This is most annoying. Is there a problem here. Is anyone else having the same problem??

Yes. Same problem, in addition to the Add/Edit Link button (and keystroke commands) being completely broken.

Same thing here. Anyone know what's going on or how to fix this issue. I tried restarting my MacBook Pro and everything and still having the same issue.
me too. In ie8 & Firefox. Logged out & back in. New posts stuck in html mode as well.
My html/editor mysteriously stopped working about two hours ago. I can not toggle between the 'html' and 'visual' tabs. Both tabs are there, but the editor is stuck on Html. Click on Visual, nothing happens.
Staff are working on the issue and creating new threads and/or bumping threads on the issue to the top of the forum which results in other threads falling off the front page of the forum simply deprives other bloggers who have different issues that Volunteers can help with from receiving the help they need. :(
@timethief This has nothing to do with no being able to create links. This is about switching between the different editor modes!
Some extra info - I have this problem on the mac os and on windows. Switching browsers doesn't help either (tried IE, Safari and Chrome)
Sorry but there are posts in some of these threads that are also describing what you describe an another related issue as well. The bottom line is that Volunteers cannot help. Report the issue to Staff knowing they are working to resolve the outstanding issues at this time and that all threads have been flagged for their attention.
I am having the same problem. I have a post ready to go, and I cannot go into the html
window to post it. I have cleared my cache, booted my machine, and it does not help. I have this problem in both firefox and internet explorer. I was able to put up a post earlier today. This major problem seems to have come up in the last hour or so.

The issue (visual/html editor mode) seems to be resolved, except that an entire post I created (which displays fine in preview) won't show up when I publish the post now :(

The importance of reporting is that you provide all your individual details up front in the support ticket. http://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/cannot-add-a-link-to-my-blog-post?replies=23#post-681749 Staff will choose to spend their time on working on resolving the overall issue, rather than posting into these multiple threads and saying "we are working on it". Report and then be patient and hang in there!
