Chateau Theme. I tried doing test posts as Drafts in the various post formats, and then previewing them, but in previews each looks the same as Standard format. So what's the difference between formats for the viewer?
Or for the blogger? Samples views would be helpful, if my preview won't demonstrate the difference. Thanks.

Check the theme demo, as timethief suggested, and forget previewing the posts: in most cases alternative post formats affect the appearance of a post on your main page, not when viewing a single complete post.
