Does anybody know how can I just show the first few lines of each post on the front page instead of showing the full articles?

Yes. You can use "the more tag" to split content. If you are in the Visual editor your will see an icon that looks like a piece of paper split in two. Click it and that will insert "the more tag". If you are in the HTML editor look for [more] and click it. Do be sure that you don't insert "the more tag" into text within block quotes.
