Posting automatic relevant content

I've searched the forums, but am unable to locate information about whether or not it's possible, on a wordpress.com blog site, to have relevant content automatically posted to a blog page. I'm not interested in splogging. For a client in the real estate industry, who doesn't have time to routinely post articles to a blog, I would like to set up a wordpress.com blog for her that will automatically post real estate industry information. For example, I would like the blog to automatically post when mortgage rates change, when the Feds publish articles about foreclosures, when HUD publishes articles about the housing industry., etc. In between the automatic postings, she would still be able to post her own article to her blog.

Again, I've searched and searched, but all I can find is splogging software and I really don't want to go near any of that.

    Thank you for your help.

The blog I need help with is mimiderbyshire.wordpress.com.

I'm sorry but that's not possible. WordPress.com provides RSS wiudgets but they cannot be used to autofill content into posts or pages. No autmated blogs are allwoed at WordPress.com so what you suggest would be a a viloation the types of blogs allowed and not allowed policy. Please check the page on types of blogs for more information about what content is and isn’t welcome on WordPress.com.

Thank you. I'll look for an alternative for her. I appreciate your help.

  4. You're welcome. The alternative could be a self hosted WordPress.org site

  5. That IS splogging.

There are javascript-based widgets that indicate those kinds of things, but they are stripped out here for security reasons. Widgets are not splogging: posting ARTICLES without the writer's permission is splogging. Your client might be happier with WordPress.org, as TT suggests.

Thank you. I was speaking more of posting information that is disseminated by government entities vs. personal blogs.

"For example, I would like the blog to automatically post when mortgage rates change, when the Feds publish articles about foreclosures, when HUD publishes articles about the housing industry., etc."

I didn't realize that giving more air to governmental, public documentation was a violation on wordpress.com. I will likely look at producing a google site instead.

    I appreciate all your help.
