Posting my own advertisments

  1. Hello,

I posted a picture on my blog, as an advertisement.
I wanted to make sure it is OK, and not infringing any ToS here.

    thanks!

    Ron

The blog I need help with is alpgal.wordpress.com.

  2. What you've posted is an affiliate ad. Blogger initiated advertising isn't allowed here on WordPress.com except for a few, very narrow exceptions. If you need clarification, here is the policy on advertising http://en.support.wordpress.com/advertising/ and here is the ToS http://en.wordpress.com/tos/

  3. Thanks.
    I'll remove it.

  4. By the way, another question:

If I buy my own domain, will it then be possible to use these affiliate ads?

    Thanks

  5. No.

  6. Aside from a blog being accepted into WordAds http://www.wordads.co/ no blogger initiated advertising, retailing or reselling the work or products created or services provided by anyone other than yourself is allowed on free hosted wordpress.com blogs. E-commerce transactions via shopping carts and the like cannot be conducted on free blogs from and being free hosted by wordpress.com

There is no upgrade you can purchase from WordPress.com that allows blogger initiated advertising on a free hosted WordPress.com blog.

If you do require an ecommerce site, advertising and/or affiliate links you can hire a web host and get a free software install from http://wordpress.org Refer to > http://support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/
