I run two blogs with related content from the same WordPress account. Sometimes, not all the time, I want to publish the same post to both blogs simultaneously. Is there a way to do this? At the moment I have to copy and paste text from one to another

There is no way to do this because WP.com purposely disables autoposted material. They want all blogs here to be entirely original (reblogs notwithstanding).
As well, search engines will see duplicated content and downgrade both blogs.
