Posting using visual and html

  1. Since yesterday we have had problems with new posts.

    In visual mode both control panels for visual and html appear. When going to add a link a box crops up saying about navigate away from the page.

    In Html mode if we go to add a link all that happens is the outline of the box turns deep black colour. Hope that makes sense..lol.

    Everything had been working fine till then

    Any suggestions please.

  2. Others have experienced this as well. Will you please report this to Staff? Here’s the link http://en.support.wordpress.com/contact/ After you use the searchbox, under the search results, at the bottom of the page there will be a section that says “Have you found the answer to your question?” You can choose either “Yes I found the answer to my question.” or “No I didn’t find the answer to my question and I would like to contact support for help.” The no option will reveal the contact form.

    Argh! I tried to contact using the support link (thanks timethief), but nothing happens. No search results, no further options. WordPress people, what's going on?

  5. I usually type "pizza" in the search engine.
    Then I click on "Search", and this is exactly what I see:

    The above is not showing for me. I tried several searches and it still does not appear.

  7. I think it's your browser then. If you type exactly what I said above, you SHOULD see the contact form eventually.

    But rather than spend any more time on this, let's go to plan B: send an email to support@wordpress.com

  9. With Support being closed until 6 September, I'd guess that staff response will be slower than normal.

    One thing you might do is to check your junk or spam folder to see if a reply is there.

    Carerwatch, I too sent an email to the support address, and have not yet received a response. Checked the spam box; nothing there. I post only a couple times a week, so I'm hoping to get this resolved in the next couple days. In the meantime, I've noticed that I can "cut and paste" the link directly onto the body of the post, and a hyperlink is created.

    So until this is resolved, I can at least have "footnote" style links at the bottom. Awkward, I know, but if you are desperate, maybe you can do this as well.

  11. Here are some other workarounds others tried that were successful for them:
    switch to Chrome;
    switch to Firefox;
    if you are running Windows XP and cannot upgrade your existing IE8 browser to IE9 then simply upgrade the IE8 version you have installed (it worked for me);
    enter links into the HTML editor rather than the Visual editor.

    I have checked on my daughters pc tonight and all is still fine posting links. She uses XP.

    Mine is IE8 (Vista) wherein the problem lies.

    hope the problem will be solved, but perhaps it is possible for you to upload a different browser to your computer?

    Hi all. As others have mentioned contacting us at support is the best way to go about this if you're still having issues. It'll allow us to work with you on some specifics.
