Posting youtube link...

  1. I apologize if this is a silly question, I searched for a specific answer, but nothing popped up.

    If I want to include a link to a youtube video on an article, is it ok to do so? The youtube in question is listed as "standard youtube license"

    if would be this video, by the way:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FrHkKXFRbCI

    thank you!

    The blog I need help with is bewitchingkitchen.com.

  2. Yes you can embed this video into a post or page very eaily using the youtube [shortcode] http://en.support.wordpress.com/videos/youtube/#embedding-with-a-shortcode
    [youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FrHkKXFRbCI]

  3. If you only want to post the link and you want anchor text to the titke of the video then use this instead:
    <a href="http://http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FrHkKXFRbCI">The Story of Keep Calm and Carry On </a>
    and the result will look like this in the post or page
    The Story of Keep Calm and Carry On

  4. Thanks! So, there's no concern with copyrights when uploading a link to youtube?

  5. When uploading a VIDEO to YouTube there are copyright issues. But as for the responsibility after that, it lies with the person who uploaded the video. If you just put the video in your blog, you're taking in good faith that the uploader had the rights. Sometimes they don't and the video gets deleted, but your blog is not at risk.

  6. Ok, great... now I can do it without losing sleep over it... ;-)

    thanks, will mark this thread as solved....
