An example of my issue is at http://alittlebitginger.com/2012/03/19/newspapernailart/ . For some reason the spaces between paragraphs are there when I write the post but gone when it went live. They also bleed out of the posts area and into the widgets. I haven't done anything different in writing each post so I don't know what's going on. Any tips?

The code of that post is full of HTML tags that say make the text 600px wide. Did you copypaste the content from another source?
It appears like you may be copying and pasting from another source, and that brought in some code that is mucking up your post. Never copy and paste directly or this sort of thing will happen. Always use the paste from Word or paste as plain text buttons in the bottom editor toolbar.
Edit that post switch to the HTML tab and remove this from the beginning of all paragraphs (anywhere you find them throughout the post):
kclancysullivan
<div style="width:600px;margin:0 auto;">
<div style="position:relative;">and remove the closing div tags as well, anywhere you find them
</div>
