Preferred WordPress Account taken but not in use.

  1. Hello friends,

I will soon take off for a six month sabbatical in Asia. I want to setup a blog and am pretty advanced already. I would like to use the wordpress account "escapology" which is unfortunately taken.

Looking at the blog, it seems it ahsn't been used at all since 2006. Is there a way I can request deleting this account so I could make use of it? I would really love to name my blog escapology. Having the name in the URL would be just perfect.

Thanks a lot for your advice,

    Philipp

The blog I need help with is mackdiddy.wordpress.com.

  2. Blogs that have been deleted by the owner will remain deleted. We cannot, under any circumstances, allow someone to take over a blog name that was previously owned and deleted by its original/previous owner. Please do not submit support requests asking us to do this.

    http://escapology.wordpress.com/ is an unused blog.

There is no expiration date on blogs unused or otherwise. If you can make contact on your own with the owner of an unused blog then there is a means of a consenting blog owner to transfer the blog to another username account. http://en.support.wordpress.com/moving-a-blog/#transferring-your-blog-to-another-user-or-account In the case that there is no contact information Staff will not breach the privacy policy and provide you with an email address.

if you are not successful, you can register another blog with a similar name. http://en.support.wordpress.com/register-a-blog/

Or you can register a domain via a domain mapping upgrade and it will not matter what the underlying .wordpress.com address is.
