Private Blogs & Subscription

  1. I manage a private blog that originally had only 11 folks who could view the blog, along with 6 *users* - who could edit the blog. All 17 *subscribed to the blog so taht they could get updates in their inboxes.

Now I've removed 5 of the folks who could view the blog - they can no longer log in - but I'm trying to figure out if they will still get the e-mails from their former blog subsciptions.

I know I can't 'unsubscibe' them - but will removing them as viewers stop them getting e-mails as followers?

The blog I need help with is workpaths.wordpress.com.

Even though subscribers continue to appear on the stats page after making a site private and even though the screen following posting says the post was mailed out to subscribers, no email about a new post being published will be received by subscribers after the site went private. Specifically this refers to users who were subscribed to the public site prior to the site being made private and not invited users who subscribed to the private site. When a blog is made private, subscribers who are not users will not receive emails. Subscribers who are official users (which is more common on private blogs) will still receive emails.
