My blog is private, and yet a friend of mine got an email saying I had blogged and read it. How do I keep a private blog private?

Was your friend invited to view the blog? http://en.support.wordpress.com/adding-users/#invite-people-to-view-your-private-blog
Or did someone you invited to read your site then copy and paste it into an email or elsewhere, so another person (other folks) could read what you wrote?
Apparently she had subscribed to my blog - I have a few that are public and one private, and she got an email saying I had blogged and she went and read it. no harm done, but I still don't want emails going out to subscribers telling them I've blogged on a private blog :)
She could only have been able to read your private blog if she had been invited as a viewer of it. I believe Staff can remove users, right?
We cannot block or delete subscribers from public blogs. However, please read this about public blogs that become private blogs > Blog Privacy and Subscribers > http://wpcommaven.wordpress.com/2011/09/05/blog-privacy-and-subscribers/
