Problem leaving comments

  1. When commenting on other blogs, perhaps on other platforms, I attempt to publish my comments using the option "WordPress" which requires me to enter my username. However, I receive an error message telling me I don't "own" that username. Can you help me understand this issue?

  2. Are you referring to Blogger blogs? Trying to post comments on Blogger blogs is a drag. Open ID fails more often than it works and blogspot sotware thinks we all have a single username here at wordpress.com and a single blog by the same name. So if we have a domain or more than one blog registered under the same WordPress.com username trying to comment becomes a nightmare. Unless the blogger chooses to enable commenters to post with a username and URL on their Blogger blog it's next to impossible to leave a comment. The only workaround is to register a Blogger blog which will allow you to comment but your username will not be linked to your WordPress.com blog when you do.

  3. Most are Blogger blog. I've managed to workaround a couple of times, but not very often am I successful. Now I know why I left Blogger - definitely not very accommodating! :) Thanks for the info.

  4. You're welcome and best wishes with your new blog. :)

  5. Thanks -- took a quick look at your blog and found it be a very helpful place. Following you now!

  6. That's great news. Thank you and welcome. :)
