Problem site meter.

  1. Hello everybody,
since this morning my site meter counter doesn't work and I don't understand why.
I didn't change anything on my template so there's no reason not to work. The problem
is that the image counter on the link has disappeared. I have verified that it is
correctly linked in my blogroll (the link and the image adress)...and everything seems
ok. Did somebody already have this problem ?
    Thanx for you help.

  2. hi, same problem here... no more registrations since 9am.
    Regards.

  3. I have looked at your blog. I have noticed that you have not set up your "blog stats" widget supplied with your blog.

    (1) dashboard -> presentation -> sidebar widgets

    (2) locate the "blog stats" widget and use your mouse to drag it from the horizontal bottom "available widgets" box to the vertical "sidebar" box located on the left hand side positioning it where you want it.

    (3) scroll down to "save changes" on the bottom right hand side and click it

    (4) view the front of your blog understanding that sidebar widgets are cached and take a few minutes to show up.

  4. I have the same problem here.

timethief, it's not that that's the problem, it's that the "image address" part of the bookmark is being ignored and the sitemeter link is being output as a normal text link rather than an image link. And since sitemeter relies on hits to the image link to track stats, the stats aren't working.

The only work-around I can think of (and I'm currently temporarily using) is to add/create a text widget and add the following code into it:

    <a href="XXXXX1"><img src="XXXXX2" alt="" /></a>

Replace XXXXX1 with your sitemeter link and XXXXX2 with your sitemeter image link. Not the best of solutions as in Regulus theme an unwieldy box is put around whatever's in a text widget.

  5. The only work-around I can think of (and I'm currently temporarily using) is to add/create a text widget and add the following code into it:

Um, hate to say it but that's the way we've been telling folks to do it for months now. :)

  6. arrggghhhh!!! (oops! I didn't mean it).

  7. Um, hate to say it but that's the way we've been telling folks to do it for months now. :)

Ah, well, never knew that, excuse my ignorance :P

The only method Sitemeter lists on their site is the 'bookmark' method -- is there any reason why this stopped working?

  8. Not sure about the current issue but when they combinded the Link and Post categories, they took away the option to use an image within the link. This was the work around that we came up with and had reposted to the FAQ.

There is a line for an image Address within the Manage Link page but, without having the ability to have categories to show images, it appears not to apply except for links previously created before the switch.

  9. Thanx everybody for your help, it seems to be fixed, hopefully I didn't do anything.
    Good evening.

  10. I lost 14 hours of stats. Must have had something to do with the other issue on images.

  11. Yea, strangely enough it works now.

Thanks from here too... I was wondering why no one was going to my site, NOT EVEN ME ;-)
