   Since yesterday I have had a serious problem using Windows Live Writer to post to my WordPress blogs. Up until then, I had no problems whatsoever, and WLW was quickly becoming my blogging tool of choice (imagine that of a microsoft product).

   However, beginning yesterday when I try to post, I get the following message:

   "The response to the metaWeblog.newPost method received from the weblog server was invalid."

   Then when I go to the Manage Post page I find the post from WLW there, but it hasn't been published. Plus the categories I had picked for the post are no longer attached to it. I can add categories and then publish it, but I never had to this until yesterday.

   So I thought I would try to edit my weblog settings on WLW, but when I did, I got the following message:

   "An error occured while attempting to connect to your weblog:

   Invalid server response - the response to the blogger.getUsersBlogs method received from the weblog server was invlaid. You must correct this error before proceeding."

   Finally, I tried to just add the blog to WLW again, but when I did this, the same message as above appeared again.

   I have no idea what is wrong. Does it have something to do with the server issues WP was having yesterday. Is it something I have done wrong, and can anybody help me out here.

   FYI: WLW is still working fine with a bloggerbeta blog I have.

   I have the same problem. Have raised issue with support via their 'Contact Support' route and hope they resolve it quickly. Will do same at livewriter now if I can as it may be something in their Beta build that is at fault here.

   But like you, I was beginning to rely on what looked a solid and useful piece of work from Microsoft.

   Yeah, I always use non-microsoft products when possible, but WLW has built in flickr and tagging support and worked great until yesterday. I also sent a feedback email in last night, and posted this issue on the WLW group page as well, but I am leaning toward this being a wordpress issue since my bloggerbeta blog worked just fine with WLW posts. Plus there were all kinds of problems yesterday with stats and maybe wordpress servers. Hopefully someone will come to our rescue. I pray it is soon : )

   It looks as though you guys have fixed the problem. WLW seems to be working again. Thanks for the help!
